FTSE TPI Global (ex Fossil Fuels) Equity Index Fund

Fund codeGPEK

Fund aim

The investment objective of the Fund is to track the performance of the index to within +/ 0.60% p.a. for two years out of three.

Fund characteristics

The fund employs an index tracking strategy, aiming to replicate the performance of its benchmark. The index excludes companies with activities in relation to fossil fuels, tobacco and/or certain companies that do not comply with the United Nations Global Compact (‘UNGC’) screening criteria. We follow a pragmatic approach to managing index funds, either investing directly in the securities of that index, or indirectly through other LGIM funds. The fund may also hold index and single stock futures for efficient portfolio management. The fund will also exclude shares issued by manufacturers of Controversial Weapons (as defined by the index provider) and may exclude shares in other companies with activities in relation to fossil fuels. Currency hedging is employed to protect against exchange rate movements between other developed market currencies (except where arising from holdings in emerging market securities denominated in developed market currencies (e.g. ADRs/GDRs)) and sterling. Currency hedging is achieved by selling forward for approximately one month the relevant currency exposure of the fund.
